You probably didn’t know this, but I actually was Dorothy in a school play more years ago than I probably ought to think too much about………it was lovely, therefore, to be approached by Nicola from Hanami Dream about creating a Dorothy inspired outfit – this was to be for a Wizard of Oz themed shoot, timed to fit with the 75th Anniversary of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on 15th August.
This was an exciting challenge for me, having not really made a “Themed” outfit before, but one that I knew I was up to!!! I wanted to capture some of the best known features of Dorothys outfit, whilst putting my unique Mrs W spin onto it – I therefore created a full length pale blue & white Tutu, blue & white Gingham overdress accented with Red satin ribbon ties at both the back & shoulders (allowing for optimal adjustability, given I wasn’t going to meet the Little Lady who would be modelling it!)
It was a lovely surprise to return from Holiday & find a disc of photos from the lovely Sandra at Farrow Photography waiting for me – Sandra has done a wonderful job of capturing the magic, set up by Nicola on the shoot, and I would urge you to go and have a look at both of these fabulous sites & show them some Love if you get chance!
This Theme could be a fabulously unique choice for a Wedding or childs Birthday party, and I for one would be thrilled to help you out on your trip down the Yellow Brick road……..
